Entered in the Monte Carlo rally for 1936 this famous entry was to be driven by Alan Good and W.O. Bentley.
Alan was the managing director of Lagonda and his head at the works was none other than W.O. Bentley (my hero).
Unfortunately, W.O. Bentley got an appendicitis and couldn’t go, so Alan took his wife instead (What a brave man).
Doreen was an expert rally navigator so a rather good idea to take her with.
However, on the Monte they fell off the road in Riga and abandoned the event.
We believe this was the Lagonda which Doreen Good used in the next event in March (the RAC rally) and gained a second class award.
Now being restored to it’s former glory.
